These sites provides useful information on building robots.

1. http://www.parallaxinc.com This official site provides detailed information of the popular BASIC STAMP microcontroller family and accessories. Take a look at the Stamps in Class curricula such as "Robotics". They are really well written and come complete with hardware. A really great educational system for real-time microcontroller control. Also the SXTech products such as the Con Carne using the SX52 microcontroller. You've never lived unless you've programmed in assembler at 50 million instructions per second.......probably the ultimate in excitement.

3. http://www.singaporehobby.com.sg (Supplier of integrated servos in Singapore)

4. http://www.niteo.com.sg (Innovative small company which makes interesting mechatronic gizmos. If you're a student in S'pore these chaps can advise you on building robots. They prefer the BasicX but I won't hold that against them)

5. http://www.ee.cityu.edu.hk/~rtbrad you can see here what my ex-colleagues are doing at City University in Hong Kong.

Here is a link to my colleague's website. Dr Chen I-Ming is a pretty mean machine when it comes to making robots http://www.ntu.edu.sg/home/michen/index.html
